In a “Super-derby” worth of heart attack, River beat Boca by 3 to 1 at the Bombonera. Gonzalo Martinez and Lucas Alario had took an advantage to the ones coached by Marcelo Gallardo until Fernando Gago scored a goal for the “Xeneizes” even though he had a complicated situation with Augusto Batalla. The match was almost finishing when Sebastian Driussi wrote history for the “Millionaire” and now the championship is more exciting than ever.
At the Alberto J. Armando stadium, Boca and River played another time the so expected “Super-derby” of Argentina. Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s team arrived to the spot being first in the tournament’s standings by only 3 points over the following team and knowing that they could extend their advantage that same night. The “Millionaire”, who hasn’t lost since 2017 started, had the chance to short the distant between its rival and itself in the standing and besides take revange of the last game played between Boca and River at the end of 2016 and lost by 2 to 4.
Patricio Loustou was the referee of the very intense match. So intense that during the first minute Milton Casco had to leave the field thanks to an injury in his knee after foul from Fernando Gago. River had the first goal situation through a Sebastian Drussi’s shot on target that was stoped by Agustín Rossi.
In the 14th minute River scored the first goal of the match after Driussi’s right pass to Gonzalo Martinez who shot on target letting Rossi nothing to do to avoid it. River looked forward to extend its advantage and finally archived it an attack lead by Martinez y defined by Lucas Alario during the 23rd minute.
The first period was about to finish when Boca Jrs suprisly shorted the distance in the scoreboard. Fernando Gago executed a free kick and Augusto Batalla’s mistake put the scored box 1 to 2. Boca went out to the pitch decided to look for a draw and had its chances thanks to Dario Benedetto but Lucas Martinez Quarta intercepted it over the goal line. Later, during the last part of the game the “Xeneixes” tried to tied the game but River’s goalkeaper avoided it twice, stopping Walter Bou’s shot and then Gino Peruzzi’s.
The game was about to finish when Boca made a mistake in the half of the field, the ball was stole by Ignacio Fernandez who let Driussi scored the third goal for River and the last one of the game.
