A pocos días de regresar al país tras la dolorosa derrota en la final del Mundial 2026, Facundo Medina eligió volver a sus raíces. El defensor del Olympique de Marsella visitó su querido Villa Caraza, acompañado por el Flaco López, y salió a saludar a los vecinos que se acercaron para brindarle su apoyo después de la participación de la Selección Argentina en la Copa del Mundo de Estados Unidos, México y Canadá.
Facundo Medina y un mensaje para terminar con los rumores
En medio de las versiones que circularon en las redes sociales sobre supuestos conflictos dentro del plantel y conspiraciones por la caída en la final del Mundial, el lateral fue categórico y pidió no creer en ese tipo de publicaciones.
«No crean boludeces. Ustedes vieron en fotos y videos que siempre fue un grupo bueno. No crean boludeces», expresó Medina desde un balcón ante el aplauso de los fanáticos, en un mensaje que se suma a los que ya habían brindado Claudio Tapia y Roberto Ayala para desmentir cualquier tipo de interna en el plantel.
El defensor también dejó una reflexión que fue muy valorada por los presentes: «Hay cosas más importantes que un partido de fútbol en la vida. Hay que ser buena gente», manifestó quien disputó cinco partidos en el Mundial, incluida la final frente a España.

Medina reconoció que la derrota todavía duele puertas adentro y explicó por qué varios futbolistas no regresaron inmediatamente a la Argentina tras la final.
«También nosotros estamos así. Por eso algunos de los chicos no vinieron para acá. Nosotros nos ponemos mal, nos ponemos tristes. Ya sé que está mal porque es un partido de fútbol y hay cosas más importantes en la vida», confesó con sinceridad.
A su lado también tomó la palabra el Flaco López, quien destacó el orgullo de regresar al lugar donde crecieron. «Compartir un poco con él para olvidarnos de lo que pasó hace unos días. El mayor orgullo que tenemos nosotros es venir de donde venimos», afirmó antes de cerrar con una frase que emocionó a los presentes: «Tenemos que sentirnos más que orgullosos de ser argentinos».
Lejos de los estadios y de los focos del Mundial, Villa Caraza recibió a uno de los suyos con el cariño de siempre.
